October 2026 Exams

The October 2026 examinations will take place on Monday 5th October 2026 at various centres in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia as well as online for limited exams.  Please consult the timetable for more details.

Completing the Examination Booking Form

Registration for the October 2026 exam session is now open and closes on 24th July 2026. Please complete the October 2026 booking form and email it to adminstaff@ife.org.za to receive a quotation.

Candidates are advised to read the following documents relevant to October 2026 examinations prior to booking examinations.

Reasonable Adjustment Policy

The IFE provides a system of reasonable adjustments. This system is in place to enable candidates with disabilities (including medical conditions and learning disabilities such as Dyslexia) to access the IFE examinations whilst ensuring that the assessment process remains valid with all candidates receiving an equitable assessment experience.

The deadline for submitting a request for reasonable adjustments is 23:59 pm (GMT) on 4th August 2026. The link to apply reasonable adjustments is here, and our reasonable adjustments policy can be found here.

Exam Resources

Those writing in the October 2026 exam session need to take the following into consideration.

Candidates are required to manage their own learning in preparation for the exams. Whilst the IFE does not provide training courses for candidates preparing for the Level 3 Certificate and the Diploma exams.  The IFE SA Branch has a Level 2 Certificate in Fire Science, Operations and Safety Online Exam Preparation Course contact us at adminstaff@ife.org.za for further information.

Candidates should use the published syllabus as the starting point for their learning and recommended reading. A Candidate Guide is also available which includes information on level of difficulty, instructions and command words, common errors and tips for approaching exam questions. Past papers and sample questions are also available, which will illustrate the level, type and range of questions that may be asked in.
