Continuing Professional Development Courses (CPD)
Since 1997, the IFE has advocated the adoption of CPD by all members as a way to further their knowledge, understanding, and expertise in whatever field of Fire Engineering they practice. In order to assist its members, the IFE has produced a CPD Guidance, Recognised CPD Activity Listing, and a CPD Activity Template for members to record their CPD activities.
The IFE views Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as essential to effective performance as a professional fire engineer, and undertaking a Recognised Training Course can provide you with this CPD.
All members of the IFE are required to undertake and record CPD as part of their professional development and membership of the IFE. It is an obligation of membership that members maintain their standard of professionalism.
The IFE is proud to present the Fire Safety Officer Program which is intended to provide the learner with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties of a Fire Safety Officer. This course is bench marked against job performance requirement details in NFPA 1031 and incorporates South African legislative requirements and job specifications.
Each learner needs to complete the 6 modules in order to obtain the IFE Fire Safety Officer Certificate. Learners will need to submit a completed portfolio of evidence, which will include practical assignments, site visit reports, etc.
The IFE UK accredited CPD Points and ECSA CPD will be awarded on successful completion of the courses.
More information on all the IFE Courses can be found on the Online & Classroom Short CPD Page.
