Fundamentals of Fire Investigation Course
Dates: 3 day Online & 2 day Practical
6th – 10th June (Johannesburg)
12th – 16th September (Durban)
This unit provides candidates with the opportunity to demonstrate an understanding of forensic fire investigation. These include fire engineers, consultants, fire safety personnel, law enforcement officers, and
short-term insurance professionals.

investigation
The key course content is as follows:
Basic fire investigation methodology
Basic fire science
Origin determination
Cause determination and expert testimony
What to expect:
3 full day Classroom Lecturers and Assessments
Question and Answer sessions hosted by the IFE instructors and 2 days practical Fire Pattern and Investigation session.
This course is accredited by the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) as the 40 hour component for the Fire Investigation Technician Certificate.
This course is also accredited with 28 CPD hours with the IFE UK
