March 2022 Examinations
The March 2022 examinations took place on Thursday 31 March 2022 and Friday 1 April 2022.
Results
The timetable for the IFE to put letters in the post to candidates containing results for the March 2022 examinations is provided in the table below. Results letters will be posted to all candidates. The IFE is not able to give results over the telephone.
The table will be updated when results have been posted to candidates.
The IFE requests that all candidates allow an adequate amount of time for their results to arrive before contacting the IFE to request an electronic copy of the result letter or a second copy to be posted to them. Successful candidates will receive an appropriate certificate with their results letter. Candidates who have changed address since booking examinations should contact IFE via email to provide details of their new address so that results can be posted to the correct address.

Deferrals and Special Consideration Following the March 2022 Examinations
Prior to submitting a request for a deferral arrangement or for special consideration, candidates should read the policy and procedure information provided in the Arrangements for Special Consideration and Deferral of Examinations.
Deferral: Where candidates are not able to attend on the day of the examination due to circumstances that are severe, unforeseen and outside of the control of the candidate, the candidate may apply for a deferral arrangement. Candidates should note that an administrative fee will be payable where deferral arrangements are agreed. Requests for deferral arrangements must be made in writing, using the form provided by the IFE and should be emailed to: adminstaff@ife.org.za. Requests must be supported by relevant documentation. All requests relevant to March 2022 examinations must be submitted by 25 April 2022 at the latest. The form for requesting a deferral can be downloaded here.
October 2022 Examinations
The October 2022 examinations will take place on Monday 3 October 2022.
The following examinations will be available:
- Level 2 Certificate in Fire Science, Operations and Safety
- Level 3 Certificate in Fire Science, Operations, Fire Safety and Management:
- Unit 1 – Fire Engineering Science
- Unit 2 – Operations
- Unit 3 – Fire Safety
- Unit 4 – Management and Administration
- Level 3 Certificate in Fire Service Operations and Incident Command
- Level 4 Certificate in Fire Service Operations and Incident Command
- Level 2 Certificate in Passive Fire Protection
- Level 3 Certificate in Passive Fire Protection
