Student Full- or part-time students or employees of fire engineering.
Technician By examination (Intermediate) or election through recognition of equivalent qualification plus 2 years training and experience in fire engineering in both cases.
Graduate By examination or election through recognition of equivalent qualification, plus 3 years training and experience in both cases, or via the Mature Candidate Route.
Associate A Graduate member with additional prescribed modules of study, plus 1 year Continuing Professional Development, or a relevant honours degree to progress to Fellow grade.
Member By examination or election through recognition of equivalent qualification, plus 4 years training and experience & 2 years CPD in both cases, or via the Mature Candidate Route.
Fellow By election, a Member for at least 3 years plus other stringent requirements.
Affiliate A title for individuals or organisations with an interest in fire engineering who wish to take part in the IFE activities but have not met the requirements of a membership grade
